Perfect Corn on the Cob

Image of corn cob The fresher the corn, the better it tastes. It tastes best if you cook it within an hour or two of picking. If this isn't possible, at least make sure you cook it the same day that you bought it. Here's how:
  1. Get a pot which is large enough to hold all the corn cobs you want to cook, and fill it ¾ full of water.
  2. Put pot on stove, on high heat. If you have a lid for the pot, put the lid on, as this will make the water boil more quickly.
  3. Meanwhile remove all the leaves and silk from the corn cobs, and cut off any stalks.
  4. When the water is boiling, put all the cobs into the water. If you have a lid, put it on the pot.
  5. It will take a few minutes for the water to come back to the boil. As soon as the water boils, remove the pot from the heat.
  6. The corn cobs are now perfectly cooked. That was easy wasn't it?
If you are not quite ready to eat them, leave them in the hot water (for up to 30 minutes) and they will stay warm until you are ready to eat.
